To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, Lerwick will welcome the Liberation Convoy – a flotilla of five historic vessels sailing from Norway, including the M/K Andholmen and S/S Hestmanden, the Norwegian War Sailor Museum.
Arrival in Lerwick:
- Tuesday 6th May
- Ships open to the public: Wed 7th – Fri 9th May, 11am–5pm
- Concert: Norwegian Naval Band at St Columba’s Kirk – Thurs 8th May, 7.30pm (free entry)
- Commemorative Services:Lerwick, Hillhead – Thurs 8th May, 11am
- Scalloway, Shetland Bus Memorial – Thurs 8th May, 3pm
- Parade & Civic Reception: Wed 7th May, 6.30pm from harbour to Town Hall
Visiting vessels are expected to start to depart Lerwick harbour from Saturday 11th May
